Raji James has worked extensively as a professional actor for over 25 years, across film, TV, radio and the stage. Just a slice of Raji’s most popular film work includes playing Abdul Khan in the hugely successful ‘East is East’, Anil in ‘Provoked – A True Story’ and Sanjay Khanna in ‘Nina’s Heavenly Delights’. On TV, Raji has starred as a regular lead character in long-running series in both ‘The Bill’ as DS Vik Singh and later as in ‘EastEnders’ as Ash Ferreira. Raji has also appeared as feature leads in ‘Waterloo Road’, ‘Law and Order UK’, ‘Casualty’, ‘Robin Hood’, ‘Walking the Dead’, ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Silent Witness’ as well as a four-part special for BBC’s ‘Doctors’. Raji’s voiceover work is equally varied, including a number of radio plays for the BBC, commercials for Range Rover, First Utility and BT, as well as numerous corporate films. Outside of performing, Raji also lectures to college and university students on a range of subjects including, Audition Technique, Building a Character, Filmmaking and Theatre Production. He even hosts an online Acting workshop on Gravy For The Brain.
