Catherine Weate is a freelance voice and dialect coach, who regularly coaches for production companies and producing houses. She has worked in theatre, film, television, radio, education, commerce, law and politics across England, Australia, Hong Kong, Africa, India and the USA. Her former roles include: Head of Voice at Rose Bruford College, Head of Voice and Vice Principal at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) and Head of Examinations at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), where she was responsible for artistic and commercial operations worldwide. Catherine is co-developer of The Real Accent App series (USA, England, Celtic Nations and Europe). She is the author of two voice books, Classic Voice and Modern Voice, and a series of monologue/duologue books. Catherine has also appeared on Radio 4 Midweek, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio Manchester, BBC Radio Merseyside and CBBC.
